Gifts Of Spirit

There are certain gifts man has innate inside him

They are spiritual gifts and come from Creator

They are discovered, known and developed by some

Unknown, denied and ridiculed by others

Some accept a few of these gifts as being from God, and believe

others are from Satan ( St John 3:27, 1 Corinthians 12:4-31 )

Some people call these gifts by one name, while others call them something else

Some are thrust upon a few and others must actively work to develop them ( 1 Timothy 4:14, 2 Tim 1:6 )

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. . . and there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. . . and there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which works all in all.

According to some spiritual scriptures , these gifts are as follows { Taken from the King James Version Bible 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 }

1. The Word Of Wisdom-A gift of Wisdom causes a person to be pure, peaceful and gentle. Full of mercy and good fruits without partiality and hypocrisy. This person prays and is able to obtain and deliver deep information and answers. It is the wisdom of God which is easy to entreat. This person always sows peace and has mastered his tongue. He understands great mysteries and knows how to handle every situation. He is one who is referred to as “ The Wise One” No one can gainsay or resist what comes from their mouths

2. The Word Of Knowledge-This person knows great mysteries and has the answers to many questions. This person will know a lot about you even though you have told him nothing. Suddenly as though he was born with the information, he just “ Knows “ things. He is full of revelation and truth.

3. Faith- This person has faith unwavering. His right and left brain hemispheres always agree ( his thoughts do not fluctuate ). Asking this person to help pray for your needs will ensure your prayers are answered. The person with this gift also knows that all things are clean and all things are allowed and never condemns himself or separates himself from God. (James 1:6-8, Hebrews 10:23, ) ( Romans 14:1-3, Rom 14:5-9, Romans 14:14-23 )

4. Healing-This person is able to heal with laying on of hands or long distance even without touching. The healing he extends is not just physical but mental, emotional and spiritual.

5. Miracles-This person is able to do fantastic things, many people will call a healing a miracle and as great as a healing is, it is just that, a healing. Miracles are much different. Miracles can part the red sea or turn a staff into a snake. It can hide you in plain view, or drop manna from heaven. It can take two fish and feed 10,000 people.

6. Prophecy-Prophecy is the telling of future events. The Bible says in the old days, Prophets were called Seers. God reveals many events that will occur, to the people with this gift. Whether you call yourself a Prophet, A Psychic, a Seer or a Diviner, The gift of Prophecy is working through you. Prophets see visions and dream dreams. They also receive messages from spirit to deliver to others ( Numbers 12:6 )***special notes. . . ***On Prophecy and foretelling the future Many people will read you the story about the woman who followed behind Jesus divining continually and they will tell you this proves divination is wrong or of the devil. ( Acts 16:16. ) This woman followed them around for many days and kept proclaiming that they were men of God. After a couple of days Paul got tired of it. In other words it got on his nerves. He than turned and took her gift away.

We do have the ability to impart gifts to others and therefore we also have the ability to take those gifts away. The spirit of a prophet is subject to a prophet, so the woman was out of order. What she should have done was cease from her excess divination after the first day. She was also doing it for money and this may have caused her to be over zealous. However it was not her gift that was wrong. . it was the way she was using it that irritated Paul. 1 Thes 5:19-20 –Quench not the Spirit. . . . Despise not prophesying.

7. Discernment of Spirits-This person knows the true spirit of a person or entity. They know what is working behind the scenes. This person is able to see to the marrow and knows the intent of someones heart

8. Divers Tongues-This person speaks the language of God and angels while under the anointing. It is Spirit speaking through them to the people, Spirit will also pray through us when we do not know what to pray for ( Romans 8:26 ) **special notes. . ** On Tongues and Interpretation of Tongues Many people think this is a person who speaks in different earthly languages such as Spanish or Russian while under the anointing. The reason they believe this is because the Bible says that on the day of Pentecost ( Acts 2 ) everyone heard them speak in their own language. Taking one scripture and trying to interpret the whole meaning can lead us down the wrong path. The spirit fell on everyone on the day of Pentecost. Every man HEARD them speaking in their own language. In other words, as these people allowed the spirit to speak through them ( gifts of tongues ) the people understood what was being said ( interpretation of tongues) So everyone within the area suddenly developed a gift because the anointing was so strong ( this could have been a one time occurrence for some and probably was ) The scriptures clearly let us know that the language was just heard, so everyone could understand and only thought the others were speaking in their own language Acts 2:17 shows that God had poured his spirit upon all flesh. To further show the truth of this read 1 Corinthians 14. Some people may even argue that tongues are wrong and not of God because Paul states that he would rather speak with understanding than in an unknown tongue. Paul is merely stating that tongues can not edify or teach us anything unless there is an interpretor. He is saying that we can not learn something we can not understand. He is not condemning tongues. He is saying if we have the gift of tongues, pray for the gift to interpret tongues or pray for the gift of Prophecy.

9. Interpretation Of Tongues- The person with this gift knows what the person speaking in tongues is saying. They hear the words in their native language and is like an interpretor

Nothing has changed, these Spiritual Gifts still exist today and all are from God. All we have to do is desire to have them and pray and work toward them.
